Soto ayam is a typical Indonesian food in the form of a kind of chicken soup with a yellowish gravy. The yellow color is due to turmeric which is used as a spice. Soto ayam can be found in many areas in Indonesia and Singapore. In addition to chicken, the ingredients used also include boiled eggs, sliced potatoes, celery leaves, and fried onions. Sometimes soto is also served with rice cake or white rice. In addition, chicken soup is also often served with chili sauce, crackers and koya (a mixture of crushed crackers and garlic).
